Trailer hitch wiring

I am installing a class 3 hitch on my 2014 Ford Edge. I have done a few on different vehicles over the years and the u tube videos make it look quite easy. The lighting control requires a power wire run from the front weaving it in and out of stuff to protect it. On other vehicles in the past I have run a snake through the frame tube and pulled the wire through it to protect it.
So my question: I know the back of the frame tube is open from the hitch installation video but is it open at the front or are there accessible slots? I do not to crawl underneath with all this snow.
